Summary

The Victorian Country Series have responded to the changing environment of karting in 2015.
Taking into account 2015 KA rule changes, as well as fresh feedback and evidence from participants, we have reviewed the classes and race format that we will offer in 2015 to better serve our participants.

Summary of changes

  • Single day race format will be retained (The last round will be 2 days)
    • This allows VCS to run a maximum 12 events per day
    • Smaller classes will be combined
      • Each class will be eligible for separate podium results and prizes (If minimum numbers satisfied)
      • Combined classes will be gridded according to qualifying time, and not separated as distinct fields
  • All Sportsman classes renamed to TAG Restricted in line with KA classes.
  • No Clubman Pro class will be offered in line with KA classes.
  • Junior Clubman, Clubman Light, Clubman Heavy will now be offered
  • TAG 125 Masters will be offered
  • DD2 will no longer be offered due  to 2015 rules regarding State Series
  • Over 40s is now Masters (Over 35s) in line with KA classes

Classes

  • Minimum 6 karters per round
  • Classes that form in the first round will be offered at all subsequent rounds
  • Classes that do not form in the first round will not be offered at any remaining rounds
  • Classes must form in at least 5 rounds to be eligible for series trophies and prizes
  • Classes to be offered are:
    • Cadet 9
    • Cadet 12
    • Junior National Light
    • Junior National Heavy
    • TAG 125 Restricted Light
    • TAG 125 Restricted Heavy**
    • TAG 125 Restricted Super Heavy*
    • TAG 125 Light
    • TAG 125 Heavy**
    • Junior Clubman**
    • Clubman Light
    • Clubman Heavy
    • Junior Max**
    • TAG 125 Restricted Masters**
    • TAG 125 Masters**

      * Subject to KA approval
      ** These  classes  may be combined, please avoid multiple entries in these classes
  • Classes will be formed or combined from the close of entries on the CMS (Wednesday night before race meet)

Qualifying

  • Qualifying from 8:00am
  • Qualifying will consist of 6 minute sessions per class
  • Combined classes will qualify together

Timetable

  • Saturday:  
    • 9:00am – 1:00pm uncontrolled practice
    • 1:00pm – 5:00pm controlled practice
  • Sunday
    • 7:45 Drivers briefing
    • 8:00am Qualifying
    • Racing to commence at conclusion of qualifying

Entry fee

  • $70 first class entered
  • $50 second class entered

Second entry includes immediate family members (Children under the age of 16)

Commentary

On track race commentary will be provided at each round of the series in 2015

Race format

  • 2 heats of 10 laps  and a final of 12 laps unless otherwise specified
  • Qualifying times determine grid positions for heat 1 and heat 2
  • Grid positions for final determined by total points for heat 1 and heat 2

Prize eligibility

  • A class must form in 5 out of 6 rounds to be eligible for series trophies and prizes
  • Drivers must compete in a minimum of 4 rounds in a class to be eligible for series trophies and prizes

Series Points

  • 401 less 10% system
  • All heat and final points count for series

Please note: For rule purposes the Victorian Country Series is considered a State Series, and not a Zonal Club Championship.
