Warm and sunny weather saw drivers return to the track in numbers, with 42 entrants contesting 8 classes of racing at the monthly Club Day meeting of the Ballarat Go Kart Club. The conditions brought out the best in drivers, with closely contested racing in most classes. Highlight of the day was the Senior National Pro class where little seperated the field in both the heats and finalResults as follows......

In the closest racing of the day the Senior National Pro class featured nose-to-tail action in both heats and the final. Little seperated the front runners with constant changes of position across all three races. After a close 3rd in the first heat, some inspiring driving from Callum Boyce saw him lead the field home in heat 2 and the final to take the class win for the day. Closely following was Josh Dunstonewho drove consistently all day with three second places. John Page showed good form on the day for a well-earned 3rd ahead of the fast finishing Micheal Masterson who showed great pace in the final. An unlucky Andrew Smith struck mechanical problems in heat 2 and the final after a great drive to win the first heat.
Junior National Pro
1st Nick Devenport
2nd Ash Quiddington
3rd Steven Doria
4th Patrick Loiacono
5th Tyler Carter
Nick Davenport took the honours in Junior National Pro ending Ash Quiddington's recent dominance in the class. After chasing Ash home in the first heat Nick showed great determination to turn the tables in heat 2 and set up a Final showdown. Clean and close racing resulted before Nick edged ahead in the latter stages to record a well earned class win on the day. Steven Doria again performed consistently to bring home third place for the day.
Clubman Light

Ben Beasley continued his recent good form with another victory in the Clubman Light class. After establishing his dominance early in the first heat he was rarely challenged for the rest of the day. Behind Ben there was an entertaining contest between Paul Stack and Ash Findlay with both drivers pushing themselves to the limit to press their claims. Paul was able to hold out Ash in the first two heats to take second place on the day, before Ash found his way past in the final to secure third place for the day.
 
 
 
Clubman Heavy

A strong field in Clubman Heavy saw Brad DeCarli once again on top of the podium. It seems there is no stopping his recent run with an all the way win once more. Jason Harrison led the chasing pack with some desperate driving to secure second place on the day ahead of the ever reliable Kevin O'Donohue. Mick Angwin kept the field honest with aclose fought 4th on the day.
 
 
 
Rotax Heavy
1st Andrew Marshall
2nd Andrew Stasse
3rd Craig Widgery
 
 
 
Andrew Marshall had an all the way win in Rotax Heavy recording victories in both heats and the final. After a competitive first heat, the stage was set for more action in the second heat. Andrew Stasse and Craig Widgery were chasing hard before a collision saw Craig out of action for the rest of the day. 
 
 
 
Midgets
1st Blake Graham
2nd Jarrod Dwyer
3rd Tyler Harrison
4th Micheal Seferis
5th Todd McMaster
 
 
 
Some great individual tussles were the feature of the Midgets class. At various times during the day there was some excellent racing between Blake Graham and Jarrod Dwyer, Tyler Harrison and Micheal Seferis, and Jarrod Dwyer and Micheal Seferis. At the end of it, Blake Graham secured victory on the day with wins in both heats and the final. The final was highlighted by the battle at the front of the field between Blake and Jarrod, with the lead swapping regularly before Blake prevailed. Another great battle was taking place behind them between Tyler Harrison and Micheal Seferis, withTyler edging past Micheal on the final lap to take third place on the day. 
 
 
 
Rookies
1st  Danial Doria
2nd Dylan Harrison
3rd  Jayden Boak
4th  Bryce Carter
 
 
 
Danial Doria and Dylan Harrison had a great battle at the front of the Rookies field. With a win each in the 2 heats, some close racing was anticipated for the final. And so it proved for the first couple of laps before Danial established his dominance to record the victory and take first place on the day ahead of Dylan. Jayden Boak drove consistently for third place on the day, while Bryce Carter showed great improvement across the course of the day with a great drive to take third place in the final.
 
 
 
TAG 125
1st Andrew Smith
2nd Jake Marshall
3rd Robert Cole
4th Richard Blackwell
5th Craig Widgery
 
 
 
It was a battle of the youg guns as Andrew Smith and Jake Marshall went head-to-head in the TAG 125 class. With Craig Widgery out of action after taking first place in heat 1, Andrew and Jake stepped up with some close racing before Andrew prevailed with the victory on the day. The consistent Robert Cole fought on well to take third place. 
 
  
 
 
Encouragement award for the day went to Rookie driver Bryce Carter.
 
The next Monthly Club Day meeting is scheduled for Sunday October 26th at the Haddon Park Raceway at Haddon. Spectator entry is free, and all are welcome.
