The monthly Club Day meeting of the Ballarat Go Kart Club was held on Sunday July 27th at the Haddon Park Raceway, Haddon. Cold and wet conditions greeted the 39 drivers who competed in 8 classes of racing. Wet conditions in the first round of heats saw most drivers put the racing slicks in the trailer and run on wet tyres. As conditions dried the slicks were back on the karts for the second round of heats and the first of the finals. Late rain saw drivers in the last of the finals scrambling to change to wet set-ups once more. Close and exciting racing resulted in many of the classes. Results as follows......

Close racing between the three placegetters highlighted the Midget class. Dominant in the first two heats, Michael Seferis had to hold off strong finishes from Blake Graham and Jarrod Dwyer to secure the point-score for the day.

Mitch Quiddington and Dylan Harrison had a tight tussle all day in the Rookies before Mitch prevailed in the final with a strong drive. Reading the weather better than his rivals, Mitch entered the final race set up for wet conditions while Dylan and Danial both stuck with their dry set-ups. As the rain came down, Mitch quickly established his dominance driving away with the win.

In Junior National Pro Ash Quiddington made it a clean sweep of the heats and final with a strong performance. Nick Davenport struggled with his kart set-up in the heats before getting it together for the final and pushing Ash right to the line. Jamie Attwood had an entertaining battle with Patrick Loiacono to secure third place on the day.

Callum Boyce was the victor in a tight tussle with Josh Dunstone in the Senior National Pro class. Highlight of the racing was the second heat with the lead changing twice on the last lap before Josh crossed the finish line ahead of Callum by the barest of margins. Greater consistency saw Callum edge Josh on the point score for the day, with John Page third.

Ben  Beasley was back on the top of the podium after a recent run of outs with some close racing in the Clubman Light class. Drue Masterson drove consistently to take second place, with Rob McMaster close behind for third. An unlucky Luke Fong finished out of the placings after failing to finish the first heat.

With rain falling during the final Brad DeCarli powered away with the win. In a great display of wet weather driving Brad was a clear winner ahead of Paul Feely and Brad Quiddington, closely followed by the rest of the field. Entertaining driving was the order of the day as all drivers pushed their karts hard in the wet conditions.

Consistency across the heats and finals saw Kevin O'Donohue secure the point score for the day in Rotax Light. Richard Blackwell drove a great race to win the final, while Jake Marshall showed promise of things to come in his first outing at Ballarat in the Rotax Light class.

In some of the closest racing of the day, the Rotax Heavy class put of a great display of power and pressure driving. The lead swapped regularly across the heats and final race as all drivers pushed for the ascendancy. At the end of the day Pete Renga was a narrow point-score winner from Craig Widgery. An unlucky Andrew Marshall took third position after being involved in a collision on the last lap of the final
