October club day was a beautiful day with Taj working on some PB's in Cadet 12 and the Dunmore sisters Ella and Grace having a great battle with lots more pace in just 1 short month.
Restricted Light had some great racing at the front with Shayne, Bill and John nose to tail, and Daniel made inroads as well.
Greg and Andrew had fun in Restricted medium, although Greg did manage to find the tyres in a helmet fogging incident.

A bit of wild weather for clubday saw unexpectedly fast times; who knew a 50kmh headwind would produce good laps?
Thanks to all who turned up, had patience with us, and/or helped out.
Competitors were met with great conditions on Sunday for Ballarat kart club September club day.

Bring a mate sessions were once again held with club members offering up a kart to a mate to have a go in a controlled environment. The idea is raising interest in karting with potential new Karter’s getting the racing bug.
Remember, we will run bring a mate at October club day, so get a mate involved.
New Karter’s included Sisters Grace Dunmore, Ella Dunmore and Daniel Findlay competing for the first time on P-Plates and doing a fine job completing all races and improving with the help from a few of the experienced club members.
Results:
Jett Rendell was the sole Cadet 12 entry but was certainly the most improved over the day showing consistency and improving his driving as the day went on.
KA3 Senior light and Medium was taken out by Jason Douglas putting in fast laps, looking forward to the arrival of his new kart in time for Portland Country Series. Luke Thurston was solid in 2nd place and Greg Ord was the sole medium driver who was kindly offered a drive by Mal Mason.
KA4 Junior class included sisters Grace Dunmore and Ella Dunmore with the ever fast Zaiden Barry taking out the races, while putting in some solid testing laps for up-coming country series.
Shayne Penhall was too good on the day, taking out Tag restricted light in all heats and the final. John Page dropped the lead-weight to run light class, putting up a good battle in the second heat putting the pressure on Shayne. Daniel Findlay progressed through the day, continually making set-up changes and learning his race craft. Overall placing was Daniel Findlay in 4th, John Page in 3rd, with Bill West 2nd and Shayne Penhall 1st.
Tag restricted medium welcomed Michael Beveridge from Swan Hill (thanks for making the effort) with Ray Dumesny taking out the final with solid laps, Andrew Calvert 3rd, and 4th was Ian Klauss making massive improvements in lap times over the day, while doing his time on his P-Plates.
Remember, 28th October is club day, bring a mate, get organised, get entered and let’s go racing!
It was great to see some new members getting experience, and the stewards were extremely impressed with driving of all the new P platers.
We hope to see you all again, plus more of your friends next month as the weather warms up.
